Existing Industries

"We are known by the company we keep."

Our Existing Industry Program promotes a strong business environment by facilitating retention and expansion efforts and addresses workforce and operational concerns. We strive to foster the health and future growth of the region’s existing industry and manufacturing base. Too often after the announcement of a new plant, community leaders forget about it and start looking for another one. This is defiantly not the case in Valdosta-Lowndes County. The day after an industry opens for business it becomes an existing industry…a part of our community…our industrial family and becomes even more important. The Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority has an open door policy for existing industry as an effort to insure continued industrial health and growth.  No issue or request for help is too large or small. Whether a company employs 2 or 2,000, the Authority staff is ready to assist.

Components of our Existing Industry Program include:
·        Conducting a structured visitation program to measure and positively impact the needs and issues facing our existing industry base.
·        Assisting existing industry with expansion plans by providing a conduit to state and local incentives, site location infrastructure, utilities and employee training.
·        Conducting quarterly existing industry appreciation events.
